What does the slogan “Funky Circular Interior Objects” mean, and how does VANK bring this idea to life?
It’s VANK’s manifesto aimed at breaking stereotypes around the circular economy. It shows that responsible design can combine sustainability with courage, energy, and expression. VANK embodies this idea through the use of vibrant colours, bold forms, bio-based materials, and recycled resources. We design furniture that is joyful and expressive, proving that caring for the planet doesn’t mean giving up on character.
VANK boldly challenges the notion that sustainable interiors must be neutral or devoid of personality. Our philosophy is built on the belief that circularity can coexist with expression, colour, and creativity. We create furniture with the future in mind – without losing the joy of making. By using natural and recycled materials, we give them a second life in the form of objects that bring energy to offices and homes.
Biomaterials and technologies of the future
Biomaterials are at the core of our campaign. Flax and hemp fibres used in VANK_BIO acoustic panels grow quickly, absorb CO₂, and at the end of their life cycle can safely return to nature. This proves that bio-circular design not only supports well-being in workspaces but also genuinely reduces the carbon footprint. Innovative forming technologies make it possible to create unique three-dimensional panel shapes that enhance acoustics and define the character of interiors.
A second life for materials
Circular Can Be Funky is also a new approach to recycling. Recycled aluminium, rPET fabrics made from PET bottles, post-industrial foam, or unused carpet fibres from Ege Carpets – all of these materials are given a second life in VANK products. Collections such as VANK_RING and VANK_MONT prove that secondary materials can become the foundation for exceptional designs. Sofas and armchairs are made from post-industrial foam, have a modular structure for easy disassembly and recycling, while standing out with strong forms and colours. Similarly, VANK_LONG sofas bring flexibility, mobility, and acoustic comfort to office spaces while being built from responsible materials.
